Howard County Striders, 8-Week Training Program. Registration opens June 12 for this 8 week training program designed to help runners reach the finish line. Runners should be able to run 3 miles before starting the program. Program meets weekly and includes a variety of running techniques improve performance.

Welcome to the heart of Columbia, where the pulse of the city meets the rhythm of running shoes hitting the pavement. The Columbia Classic 10K is not just a test of physical endurance, it's a celebration of community, culture, and the unique beauty that defines this remarkable city. Lace up your running shoes and join us for a race through the scenic landscapes and charming neighborhoods surrounding downtown Columbia, MD. Celebrate your achievement with food & beer on the Lake Kittamaqundi lakefront with The Collective Offshore after the race!
The 10K (6.2 Mile) course is certified by USA Track & Field.

AGE REQUIREMENT
Runners must be at least 10 years old to participate in this race.

Sept 28 & 29 at packet pick up locations.

Registration transfers are not permitted to other Rip It Events. Race organizers reserve the right to close registration due to capacity limits. Race organizers reserve the right to delay or cancel event due to extreme weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Pets, baby joggers/strollers, in-line skates, bicycles, and any other non-official wheeled vehicles are prohibited.
RACE SWAG
Registration fee includes soft cotton long sleeve shirt, finisher medal post race food & beer!
Register by Sept 6 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.
Prize Purse
A $2,000 total prize purse will be awarded to top finisher at this race.
There are no monetary awards for age group winners. Top 5 awards are based on Gun Time.

RACE INFO
PACKET PICK-UP
Registered participants are required to pick up their packet before the start of the race. This includes getting your bib, timing chip and shirt. Runners must attend one of the below options:

BIB TRANSFERS & DEFERRAL
Allowing a non-registered runner to use your bib is NOT PERMITTED.
Runners may elect to defer their race entry to the following year's race.

RUN COURSE
The 10K course starts & finishes in downtown Columbia and takes runners around the Columbia mall and through the surrounding neighborhoods. The entire run course is on paved roadway. All runners must finish the race by 10:00 AM.
Please note that this event is considered a running race not a walking event.

WATER STATIONS
There will be two water station on the course (mile 2.2 and 4.4).
There are no restrooms on the run course.
PARTICIPANT SHIRT & FINISHER MEDAL
Register by Sept 6 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.
Participants will receive the shirt size they selected at online registration. Shirt exchanges can be completed at the conclusion of the race at the check-in tents. All finishers will receive a medal at the finisher line.
PARKING
Race parking will be in all public parking spaces in and around the race venue. Additional parking is available in the Maple Parking garage at the Columbia Mall (directly across the street from the start/finish line). There is NO RACE PARKING permitted in Whole Foods parking lot and Merriweather Lakehouse Parking garage. To view map of parking areas, click HERE. Follow parking signs on race day as you enter the area.
BATHROOMS
Porta-potties will be stationed at the start/finish line. There are no bathrooms on the run course.
