What is the DTC Donut Mile?
A Donut Mile is an event combining donuts and running. The event takes place on a 1/4 mile loop run course. The race begins at the starting line with the consumption of a donut, followed by a full lap around the course. The second lap continues in a similar manner; another donut is consumed before commencing the running of the second lap. This process is repeated for a total of 4 laps. Following the completion of the forth running lap (and four donuts), a competitor has finished the race. The first runner to complete all 4 laps and eat 4 donuts in the fastest time will be crowned the DONUT MILE Champion! The Donut Mile is limited to 100 participants, with 4 waves of 25 people/wave.
The donut mile will start after the conclusion of the Discover Downtown Columbia 5K/10K race. The estimated start time is 11:00 AM. The entire event will take place on Mango Tree Rd next to Colorburst Park (same start/finish line as the Discover Downton Columbia race). Donuts will be consumed in the transition area. Each run lap is 0.25 miles in length.
